Promoted by the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta, the exhibition ‘Letizia Battaglia Senza Fine’ opens on 25 October 2024 in the megalithic area of Aosta. Organised by Electa in collaboration with the Archivio Letizia Battaglia and the Fondazione Falcone per le Arti, the exhibition, curated by Paolo Falcone, presents 70 large-format photographs by the famous Sicilian photographer, known for her civil and social commitment.
Civil passion, the ability to fight, the limpid gaze of one who seeks the truth and recounts it: Letizia Battaglia (1935-2022) with her camera has spanned the decades testifying to the tragic and painful history of her Sicily and the anti-mafia, but she has also been a point of reference for civil rights and the gaze of women. Militant, editor, photographer, with her black and white images she represented the right to report without relenting.
The installation is inspired by the work of architect Lina Bo Bardi and uses crystal trestles to create an open, immersive installation where images are arranged without hierarchy.
