The exhibition, entitled Oro Rosso. Gold and coral sculptures, blood drawings, curated by Stefano Causa together with Blandine Gwizdala, will exhibit sculptures in gold and blood drawings created by the artist from the seventies to today, as well as an original and surprising series of red coral sculptures, made especially for Capodimonte by the artist. Fabre’s works will be held in dialogue with some pictorial masterpieces and splendid decorative objects of the Mannerist, Renaissance and Baroque style. With the curatorship of Melania Rossi, the sculpture of Jan Fabre The man who bears the cross (2015), will be visible in the church of Pio Monte della Misericordia, in direct dialogue with the masterpiece of Caravaggio Seven works of Mercy (1606-1607). The sculpture, made entirely of wax, is a self-portrait of the artist holding a four-meter cross on the palm of the hand.
