Since 1986, Scriptum has been providing editorial translation services, with a particular focus on art catalogues, non-fiction books and literature, as well as architecture and design magazines.
Over the years, the company has acquired the skills and resources needed to handle all stages of even the most complex publishing projects. We often work under tight deadlines and in multiple languages, as we rely on a network of collaborators that we have carefully selected and trained over time. Today, we are able to offer publishing houses our in-house services in:
specialist translation
Our in-house and external translators translate exclusively into their native language and are specialized in the publishing and art fields.
We work with the main European and non-European languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and more.
multilingual editing
Once the translation phase is completed, all texts undergo an editorial review to ensure stylistic consistency in the final product.
Desktop Publishing (DTP)
We use the most widely used desktop publishing software (QuarkXPress and InDesign) to place the translated texts into the original-language page layouts, adapting them to the available space through cuts, rewrites, and concise adaptations.
editorial coordination
With over twenty years of experience in managing large-scale publishing projects, we are able to efficiently coordinate translators, editors, layout designers, and proofreaders, meeting even the most demanding deadlines.
copywriting
Thanks to a network of art historians and various experts in the artistic and cultural fields, we are able to produce articles, catalogue entries, and other types of specialist texts.
