Josef Albers (1888-1976) was a German-born American artist and educator whose work, both in Europe and in the United States, formed the basis of some of the most influential and far-reaching art education programs of the 20th century. “Josef Albers – Art as Experience: The Theaching Methods of a Bauhaus Master” reveals the vitality and the extraordinary impact of its revolutionary pedagogy, and emphasizes the relationship between art and teaching. The exhibition (Citta di Castello, March-June, 2013) presents more than a hundred new works of his students from the Bauhaus and other institutions, along with studies and little-known works by the artist.
