Giovanni Segantini. The Return to Milan

Skira/Mazzotta 2014
Italian version of the catalogue and
English version of the exhibition panels by Scriptum

To Giovanni Segantini (1858-1899), one of the great European painters of the late nineteenth century, Milan was a true home of the spirit, an important point of reference throughout his short life. Even after moving to Switzerland, Milan remained pivotal to his artistic trajectory and the chosen place for the exhibition of his works. Published on the occasion of the major retrospective in Milan, this monograph traces the painter’s artistic development and life, from his childhood spent in lively post-unification Milan, to his move to the Engadine Mountains, one of the last unspoiled natural paradises.
At Palazzo Reale from 18 September 2014 to 18 January 2015.
