Leonardo da Vinci, versatile genius of the Italian Renaissance, embodied in full the spirit of his era. Painter, sculptor, engineer, anatomist, musician and inventor, he was active in various fields of art and science, and is now considered the best-known protagonist of culture, not only of the Renaissance, but of all times and all places. Twelve sections show the visitor the multifaceted activities of Leonardo, through paintings, original codices, original drawings (more than a hundred, including about thirty from the famous “Codex Atlanticus”) and a tremendous number of works of art: paintings, drawings, manuscripts, sculptures, incunabulae and cinquecentine from the most famous museums and libraries around the world, including works by Antonello da Messina, Botticelli, Filippino Lippi, Paolo Uccello, Ghirlandaio, Verrocchio, Lorenzo di Credi, Della Robbia and Bramante. Milan, Palazzo Reale, from 16 April to 19 July 2015 – the most important Leonardo da Vinci exhibition ever organized in Italy.
