Giorgio de Chirico. Capolavori dalla Collezione di Francesco Federico Cerruti

Castello di Rivoli 2018
English translation of the catalogue by Scriptum

For the first time, a selected nucleus of masterpieces by Giorgio de Chirico from the collection of Francesco Federico Cerruti is presented at Castello di Rivoli, thereby offering to the public works which had been concealed in Villa Cerruti in Rivoli, a dwelling which the entrepreneur from Turin had built exclusively to house his private collection.
With works ranging from 1916 to 1927, the exhibition at Castello di Rivoli presents eight important paintings by the master of Metaphysics. By displaying a cross-section of the inexhaustible metamorphic capacity of De Chirico’s genius, the exhibition investigates his rich intellectual heritage, presenting his paintings in relation to some of the main contemporary works of art from the Museum’s permanent collection. 06/03/2018 – 29/07/2018
