Translation of the catalogue into Italian and French by Scriptum
From March 19 to June 30, 2024, the Palazzo Reale in Milan hosts an exhibition dedicated to Paul Cézanne and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, two pillars of Impressionism. Curated by Cécile Girardeau and Stefano Zuffi, the event presents fifty-two masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, offering a journey through the most emblematic works of the two masters: from portraits to landscapes, from still lifes to scenes of bathers. A special section highlights the influence of Cézanne and Renoir on the next generation of artists, with a particular focus on their impact on Pablo Picasso. This event represents a unique opportunity to appreciate the evolution of Impressionism, illustrating how it inspired subsequent currents.
