On Friday 18 October 2024, the exhibition ‘Inge Morath. Photography is a personal matter’, curated by Brigitte Blüml Kaindl, Kurt Kaindl and Daria Jorioz. Produced by Suazes in collaboration with Fotohof and Magnum Photos, it will remain open until 16 March 2025.
The exhibition is dedicated to Inge Morath, the first photographer to join the Magnum Photos agency, founded in 1947 by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson and others. Through more than 150 photographs and original documents, the exhibition traces Morath’s human and professional path, from her beginnings alongside Ernst Haas and Cartier-Bresson to her collaborations with prestigious magazines such as ‘Picture Post’, ‘Life’, ‘Paris Match’, ‘Saturday Evening Post’ and ‘Vogue’.
The title recalls a statement by the artist and reflects the connection between his life and his art. Morath’s images, which portray celebrities, ordinary people and faraway places, deeply capture the intimacy of the subjects and the character of the places explored.
